What do I do if excess material in the frame is spilling over the scraper into the die?


Answer:

  1. Lower pin grid feeder gate or reduce speed of paddle wheel feeder.
  2. Check for bent feed frame.
  3. Re-level feed frame.
  4. Lower feed chute to allow material to flow more slowly.

What do I do if insufficient material is being fed to the dies?


Answer:

  1. Raise the feed chute to allow material to flow more liberally.
  2. Remove any large granules or broken tablets from feed frame which may be impeding material flow.
  3. Raise the pin grid feeder gate or increase the speed of the paddle wheel feeder.

What do I do if the lower punches are sticking?


Answer:

  1. Clean the punches and sockets more frequently.
  2. Check for material build up around punch tips.

What do I do if there are variations in punch lengths?


Answer:

  1. Keep punches in complete sets with similar overall lengths.
  2. Rework sets of punches together.

What do I do if the scraper edge becomes worn?


Answer:

  1. Redress the scraper. Place new edge on the scraper.
  2. Replace the scraper.
